Fannie Farmer What Frosting To Make With This Cake?

What frosting to make with this cake? - fannie farmer

The cake is a favorite Boston Cake The Fannie Farmer Cookbook and is basically a basic butter cake, not a particular taste or anythign and told me to deal with fudge frosting or sugar maple gel. The problem is that I have chocolate or maple syrup, suggestions?

Take a quick cream cheese frosting:

Ingredients

Butter * 1 / 2 cup (1 stick), room temperature
* 8 ounces Philadelphia cream cheese (1 package), room temperature
* 2 to 3 cups powdered sugar
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method

With a 1 electric mixer, butter and cream cheese together, about 3 minutes at medium speed until smooth. They guarantee scraping sides and bottom of the bowl to a smooth mixture.

2 Add the vanilla extract and mix. Little by little icing sugar. Add more until the desired sweetness.

3, even with a blunt knife or spatula or spoon spread in a pastry bag to decorate your cake or cupcake.

As a bonus, you can add any kind of spices you like it. Chocolate, fruit, brandy, etc. ..
